Kuwait was invaded by Iraq 28 years ago today...

I remember flying into the black smoke filled skies of Kuwait just after the Liberation in March 1991 on a KAC jumbo, flying from Andrews Air Force Base, that we didn't know would be able to land as the smoke was so thick but I knew in my heart, and his, that the Kuwaiti captain would land that baby. The flight was full with members of the US Congress, Sheikh Saud, CNN, NBC, Time, Newsweek, etc., and a biochemical specialist who told me that nothing would ever grow here again and that no bird would ever migrate through here and the place would be a barren land. How very, very wrong he was. Ashaat Kuwait.
