NBC Anchors Rap to Rapper's Delight

Nightly News anchor Brian Williams “rap” Sugar Hill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight” on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon — thanks to some expert video-editing work. The clip also features a “duet” with NBC’s weekend anchor Lester Holt, and TODAY‘s Kathie Lee Gifford “chimes in” with a “Say what?”

#Shakshooka Farmers' Market Busted by Local Mayor

Very sad to hear the Shakshooka market irked the Yarmouk mayor so much that he had the organisers taken to the local police station. I heard one of the mums said she was an organiser to spare her daughter. These pop-up markets with unlicensed vendors cause a bit of a dilemma for the local council - hopefully areas can be agreed upon whereby the shakshookers can continue making and selling fabulous homemade goods, chutneys, jams and breads and we can buy what the hell we like.

These People Seriously Rock! K'S Path Marine Conservation Volunteers

Almost every weekend a group of veteran volunteers and newbies get themselves down to Sulaibikat to clean up the beach. A pointless act some might say  due to the blatant disregard some have here for their environment. But that doesn't deter Fatima Al Sabah and her fellow K'S PATH superstars from getting down and dirty clearing the mangrove area which helps the mangroves thrive and in turn creates a healthy habitat for other species.

They've done a truly amazing job and it's certainly something to sing about..

What it used to be like..

You too can make a difference by contributing a few hours of your weekend morning, zeal and efforts to protect the many beautiful species of bird and flora at Sulaibikhat Mangrove beach! Do get in touch if you, your school or your group is happy to volunteer with our Marine Conservation Program. Email volunteers@kspath.org or call (+965) 67001622

KidZ National Day Carnival in Kaifan on Saturday 15th Feb

Should Read 'Baba's' Priceless Princess ;o)

My daughter's motto.

From 6 months old our precious one has had my husband and I dangling on a string. However, one of us has to be the disciplinarian so it's me. My husband yells and threatens but has never laid a hand on his baby girl - not even a little smack on the hand.

Anything Miss Kookie wants, Miss Kookie gets. Mini fridge for her bedroom, guitar used once, Samsung when they had just come out and her own loo roll holder placed just above the communal one. Sporting her own cartoon toilet roll paper next to a hand-made sign that she made saying, Do not use my toilet roll.

Her real name 'Sheikha' it is perfect for her. LOL.

I, on the other hand, am more pragmatic in dealing with our sweet, savvy, adorable little monster. But who can tell? Certainly not a smitten parent that's for sure.

Ahmadi Music Group Presents Acis & Galatea

Acis & Galatea Poster

In February 2014, Ahmadi Music Group and Kuwait School of Dance  will present Haendel’s great pastoral opera, Acis and Galatea.

Watch as Acis, the brave young shepherd falls in love with the exotic Galatea, queen of the Water Nymphs.  She loves him in return, but her great beauty has also attracted the fearsome one-eyed monster-giant, Polyphemus.

How can Acis hope to fight Polyphemus in order to protect Galatea?  Can Galatea’s band of gentle Water Nymphs stand against the Scary-Fairies who follow Polyphemus?

With full chorus, international soloists, full corps de ballet, and live orchestra, Ahmadi Music Group will bring this great classic work to full-colour life on the beautiful stage of the Dar al-Athar al-Islamiyyah at Maidan Cultural Center, on the roundabout near Shaab Park, Shaab.

This website is now enabled for on-line purchase of tickets by Knet only. Please use your Knet debit card to purchase tickets.
