To Fraxel or Not to Fraxel?

I'm starting to realize that lots of ladies out there have their regular visits to do a little work on their faces. I'm very tempted to do fraxel as the results seem to be amazing.
I've got a place in mind that comes highly recommended. If anyone has any recommendations or horror stories please share. Thanks.

Review: Mexican Mariachi Night At Jumeirah Messilah Hotel

A nice evening of melodious Mexican Mariachi band music, dancing and yummy food.  This event was sold out very quickly. Loved the huge pinatas and the mango tapioca pudding. Thoroughly enjoyed the wonderful band's music and the dancing.

Thank you Jumeirah Messilah Hotel.

A higher stage and proper lighting would have been much appreciated but no complaints here as we so desperately need more events like this. Look forward to the next one.

McDonald's Got Quinoa (Pronounced 'Keen-wa')

No one more surprised than me. A fair sized bowl of fatoush quinoa salad for KD 1.750 to go with your fries. I'm not sure if I was surprised that they had quinoa salad or that my daughter chose to order it.

Well done McDonald's.

A Newly Found Dog Poop Scooping Pride

A few times my dog has not quite made the sandy waste area at the end of our road - the perfect pooping ground. In front of a whole construction site full of workers I have had to use dog poop baggies to scoop his poop from the pavement and dispose of it in an appropriate place. I have always been pretty embarrassed as I'm sure the workers (and anyone of the hundred plus residents looking out of their apartment windows) must think I'm demented.
Today, I watched a man walking his dog when the dog pooped on the pavement. The owner immediately took out a baggie and scooped the poop. I didn't think he was demented. I was so delighted to see him be such a responsible dog-owner that I wanted to give him a thumbs up but having been in the mortifying position of having to clean up after my dog in front of the whole neighbourhood, I thought it best not to.
I will no longer feel embarrassed to scoop poop, in fact I think I'll start handing out baggies to the maids walking their employer's dogs and try to encourage them to use them too.

Review: The Cheesecake Factory at Arabella, Bida'a :O)

I've been a few times to The Cheesecake Factory in Avenues and it was okay but no love affair.
Today, after my daughter's really early morning try outs for the school netball team, we ended up at Arabella (next to Radisson SAS). Don't bother parking up front in the sunny KD 3 parking spots go into the underground parking which cost us 500 fils for about 2 hours. It was 9.30AM so the place was nice and quiet and they had a few places open for breakfast: Starbucks, Junkyard and a couple of others.
My precious fancied The Cheesecake Factory, which is right on the seafront, with seating for 370+ customers. When we got to the restaurant the lady at the door said they were not open until 10 but fortunately for us, and another couple, her supervisor said, "no problem come on in and have a seat." Big bonus points for me as standing outside waiting for them to open was not an option. We had a table upstairs with a lovely view.
Note to self: to come back when it's cooler and sit outside on the terrace and enjoy the sea air.
Our waiter, Bradley from South Africa, was a pro. I love great staff and this restaurant had plenty - knowledgeable, accommodating, professional and pleasant.
My babe had the breakfast combo: pancakes, bacon, poached eggs with a side of hollandaise sauce and I had the Belgian waffles with strawberries, candied pecans and Chantilly cream. My daughter's was good (I wasn't keen on her pancakes but she loved them) but my waffles were sublime; crispy around the edges, smothered in lovely fresh strawberries, delightful candied pecans, maple syrup and the Chantilly cream took it to another level. Unforgettable and perfect in every way.

10/10 for service, location and heavenly waffles.
