WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY AT THE SCIENTIFIC CENTRE

World Environment Day (WED) 2010 is aimed to be the biggest, most widely celebrated, global day for positive, environmental action.
Through WED, we are able to give a human face to environmental issues and enable people to realize not only their responsibility, but also their power to become agents for change in support of sustainable and equitable development.
WED is also a day for advocating partnerships among all stakeholders or perhaps, even more correctly, among all species living on this one planet and sharing a common future. Commemorated on June 5, since 1972, WED is one of the principal vehicles through which the UN stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and encourages political attention and action.
The Scientific Center of Kuwait plans to celebrate the day on June 12th changed to 19th, 2010. We have planned loads of activities for University students along with some educational presentations at the IMAX Theater, arts & crafts for kids and more!!! One of the main events will be “Decorate your Grocery Bag” where participants from various universities will decorate grocery bags with environment messages. We will create competitive environment by inviting teachers & students to support their college teams.
We will also be launching our recycling program in The Scientific Center along side MRC.
