Salak is the result of an artistic residency between Kuwaiti and French musicians held from 26 March to 1 April 2013. This unique encounter gave birth to a very original music that mixes tradition and innovation. At the heart of Salak, there are two string instruments: the emblematic Eastern Oud and the Western Chapman stick. The improbable meeting of these instruments for the first time on stage opens a new dialogue space between two musical traditions; two cultures despite their differences complement each other.
The show “Salak” will bring the audience through time on a journey of musical discovery to re-experience traditional music.
