LOYAC Summer Internship Program 2013





















The LOYAC Summer Program is a full-time structured program that runs for six weeks every summer. It includes 180 hours of internship, 16 hours of volunteering, numerous engaging activities and weekly meetings. The program is open to youth in between the ages of 16-28 years.
The selection process includes an online application, assessment and personal interview. Over 600 youth, 90 companies, 12 community centers and 13 committees participate in this program. A team of supervisors uses a comprehensive evaluation system to monitor the performance of the participants. At the completion of the internship, participants are awarded a certificate of work experience and a LOYAC certificate according to their performance. Two universities in Kuwait, the American University of Kuwait (AUK) and Gulf University of Science and Technology (GUST) accredit this program, and students from these universities who meet the criteria are eligible for credits upon successful completion of the program.
Objectives of the Program:
  • Paid Job

    To nurture the professional skills of the youth and to make them feel important and responsible.
  • Community Service

    To develop the youth’s sense of humanity through selfless actions, teach them to relate peacefully with each other and to help them find their sense of purpose.
  • Activities

    To provide enjoyable time for the youth to feel happy, explore their creativity and display their talents.
Program Criteria:
  • Ages 16–28 years.
  • Minimum GPA 2.0.
  • All nationalities are welcome.
  • Participants will be expected to follow program rules.
  • Participants must complete the full term of the program to be eligible for certificates.

  • Youth Initiatives
  • “Basic work skills” Workshop before the beginning of the program.
Program Duration:
  • 6 weeks, from 9th June till 18th July 2013
  • For Governmental High school students ONLY, 4 weeks, from 7th July till 1st August 2013.
