In celebration of the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the British Embassy and ASP & CO Ltd in association with Al Ahli Bank of Kuwait is delighted to announce the forthcoming production of William Shakespeare’s top comedy A Midsummer Night’s Dream which will take place in the Embassy Garden at 19.00 on 15 and 16 March 2012.
A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a ONE WORLD Production bringing together multi-cultural performers of Kuwait. The running time will last approximately 1.5 hours, without an interval and is a show packed with dance, song and fun, a ‘Shortcut to Shakespeare’ and his wonderful world of words. Set in Athens, in 1930, at a reception given by Egeus, to celebrate Duke Theseus’ forthcoming wedding to Hippolyta, the action quickly moves to an enchanted wood in Ancient Greece with its comedic chaos and happy conclusion. This production is suitable for all ages. Refreshments will be available to purchase after the production.

hi, I would like to ask if you have any experience with theatre at the embassy before? Is it worth it? I love theatre, but unluckily I always feel here in Kuwait that it wasnt worth the time and money.
ReplyDeleteOk, well this would be my first Shakespeare production at the embassy so can't really give you an answer. But I do love theatre here at BSK, KES and Kuwait Little Theatre. I find it great value for money (around KD 5) as the productions I have seen have been truly brilliant. Annie at BSK, Beauty and the Beast at BSK, Pirates of the Caribbean at KES, Sweeny Todd at KES, Mad Musicals at KLT and the Christmas pantos to name a few have all been fantastic.
