Auditions for Arsenic & Old Lace

Don’t miss your last chance to be involved in this season’s funniest tale of marriage, murder and mayhem!

Saturday 19th or 26th November between 2pm and 7pm

We are looking to fill 4 parts, as our original actors’ were reassigned out of the country over the summer:

Elaine Harper – 20′s/30′s Mortimer’s fiancée, Elaine is the daughter of the Rev. Dr. Harper. She is surprisingly wise in the ways of the world for a minister’s daughter.

Dr Einstein 30+ A plastic surgeon and an alcoholic, Dr. Einstein has changed Jonathan’s face three times.

Lieutenant Rooney 30′s/40′s+ A tough and dominating police officer. (Note: This character has only 1 scene at the end of the show, so this time commitment will be quite easy.)

The Rev. Dr. Harper* – 40′s+ Minister and father of Elaine.

Mr. Gibbs* – 40′s/50′s+ A man who wishes to rent a room from the Brewster sisters.
*Note: These parts are 1 scene each, and may or may not be double-cast.

ABOUT THE PLAY
“Arsenic & Old Lace”, the farcical black comedy set in New York in the 1940′s, features Abby and Martha Brewster, two sweet little old ladies with a gruesome secret: they poison lonely old men and bury them in the cellar! Add to the mix a nephew Teddy, who believes he’s Theodore Roosevelt, another nephew Jonathan, an escaped lunatic murderer, his sidekick Dr Einstein, and you have all the ingredients for a hilarious night at the theatre as the body count gets higher and higher. As their third nephew, Mortimer, tries desperately to escape Jonathan, prevent his aunts from any more ‘charity work’ and propose to the minister’s daughter next door, things get wackier and wackier! A well-reviewed comedy, full of insanity of the funniest kind, and a fun show to watch or to star in.

COME ON DOWN!
Come on down to the Kuwait Little Theater either on Saturday, November 19th from 2-7pm, or Saturday, November 26th from 2-7pm to audition.

We look forward to seeing you there!
