El Macareno Flamenco Concert at The National Library: Review

El Macareno: What a great, first class musical evening. Two very talented Spanish musicians; flamenco guitarist El Macareno AKA Jose Urbano Cuesta and singer/percussionist Alberto Romero in a beautiful auditorium in the stunning National Library building.

El Macareno's hand moved so fast it was a blur or as another Brit said " He's going to set that guitar on fire." The range of sounds that the percussionist was making with his drum were quite amazing and he had a beautiful, soulful voice.

For a final song two talented Kuwaiti guitarists, Mishari Al Qusi and Jacob Al Failakawi, joined in to receive a rapturous applause.

A few annoying latecomers, I wish they would just close the doors once concerts start.
El Macareno commented on the lack of applause by some members of the audience.

Many thanks to the Spanish Embassy, the Spanish Ambassador  HE Angel Losada and his wife.

More please :O)

LWDLIK - I had to miss the last two songs as my mischievious munchkin was giggling and dancing flamenco in the side aisle with a new Spanish best friend she made at the concert.

Was sad to hear that some of the audience were not showing their appreciation for such a wonderful performance. C'mon people a free public concert of this calibre and you can't muster a little appreciation. No wonder musicians have such a hard time here.
