WARNING! Lady Attacked Whilst Jogging in Dahiya Abdulla Salem Last Night

My dear friend was attacked last night when she was out jogging. She has asked me to share this with you all to warn you. Please be cautious. Thankfully she was unhurt just very, very shaken by the ordeal.

"Last night I was attacked 500m from my home..I was running on the path in Dahait Abdulla Salem. .I passed a man sitting on a bench and suddenly I was grabbed from behind and a hand over my mouth and one around my waist unto my private area..I hit ..yelled. .screamed and he ran away and I yelled ' I'll call the police' suddenly he took what looked like a knife and started running towards me again.. I ran ..I got away ..unhurt physically. .mentally maybe not..
Please ladies that live here in Kuwait. .be aware...I have always felt safe and never expected this and definitely not in my area of Kuwait."

She did go to the police station but it all happened so quickly that she can't be sure of his description. So he's still out there. And from what she told me it seems he was waiting for an opportunity. Be aware ladies and take a companion with you. Stay safe.

  1. I bring pepper spray from the States. I always carry it with me - even when I'm walking my 100lb German Shepherd. You never know. Sad that Kuwait is no longer a safe place to live.

    1. Can you place an order for a few thousand cans of pepper spray? Yes our bubble is bursting. If anyone is stupid enough to tackle you and a 100lb German shepherd then they deserve their balls being bitten off.

    2. Dear desert girl, I would carry pepper spray too and had a chance to bring back some with me after living in the states BUT after talking to a police officer and public prosecuter in Kuwait I have verified that using pepper spray in the state of Kuwait EVEN on an assailant is a prosecutable offense. Just thought I should share this info, pepper spray is illegal in Kuwait and using in any circumstances is a prosecutable offense. I know it's sad but u can land your self in some trouble for trying to protect yourself.
What happened to this ladies is awful, I'm glad she got away safely, I hope she gets the mental support she needs. Wake up call! Kuwait has turned into one of those backwards places where it isn't safe for women.

    3. I've just been watching a self-defense video using a selfie stick, I'm sure we could get away with that. She's doing okay thanks for asking.

  2. This has to stop! Women should start carrying one of the following: taser gun, pepper spray, knife, or blade. Women shouldnt fear anyone

    1. I'd love a taser gun or a pair of nunchucks. Hope Santa's listening. But on a more serious note I think ladies should be more aware of the dangers lurking, walk/jog in pairs, avoid dark unlit areas, stay in populated areas, pepper spray the crap out of anyone who grabs you.

  3. This is scary. Himdillah the girl is safe. I hike they catch this man. We never think something like this could happen here in kuwait in any of our neighbourhoods.

    1. I think that's why it's so shocking because we really don't expect it. Please be careful out there.

  5. Happened to me while i was walking with a friend in Dahya & he managed to hit me in the face. Had to do HIV test at emiri hospital, etc. It still makes me more angry than scared. He very well may be a sick local from the neighbourhood.

  7. Nearly a decade or so ago my mom was assaulted in her car by 3 boys as she waited for a signal to turn green. They tried to pull her out of the car but surprised that she's tethered by her seat belt, they decided to beat her to pulp. The shouts and actions of men from across the intersection scared them off.

Thankfully, they've been caught and ended up serving several years in juvie. (Mom was unmerciful)

I've heard of these recent attacks on ladies and as I've taught my wife (who happens to be a foreigner) some basic techniques that can scare/hurt/even seriously maim an attacker. But the ONE lesson I've drilled into her head repeatedly : situational awareness. ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings, ALWAYS be sure there's a way out. That's the paranoid security dude in me talking.

Secondly, whatever comes in handy is a weapon. You'd be surprised at how many ways you can seriously hurt a person with just your phone.

Now a bit of clarification of the law here. If I decided to kill a man for harassing my wife and have had enough evidence/witnesses to justify my actions. I will be walking free because of the Sharia concept of "honor". I was defending my wife's honor, so it's well within my rights. Civil law can piss off.

If a lady is being harassed and she was physically manhandled/assaulted, you can stab/shoot/spray/dowtfthehellyouwant - but be sure to call the cops. You'll walk off free. Any man can get into serious trouble if he's properly ID'ed by the victim, even if he only spouted a few words from a distance. Slander is an offence punishable by law here too :)

So ladies, don't hold back. This is advice from a Kuwaiti man in the security field who has run into such creatures before (but didn't kill, don't worry).

Finally, weapons of all types are illegal, but hey...my ex carried a ball peen hammer & no cop ever said boo to her. It's all about self defense using whatever happens to be in your purse..or laying around. Catch my drift? ;)
