An Invitation to Pink Tuesday at BSK, Salwa

 THE BRITISH SCHOOL OF KUWAIT

Tuesday 18 October 16.00 to 18.00
Marble Arch at the British School of Kuwait

Dear Ladies

The British School of Kuwait has firmly established itself as being at the forefront of English-style education in Kuwait.  We are one of the leading schools in Kuwait with a population of 1800 students between the ages of 4 and 19 who come from more than 70 different nationalities.   In October 2011 we will, yet again, begin our campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness by raising much need funds for Breakthrough Breast Cancer, a UK based charity.  The campaign will involve the selling of pink ribbons and memorabilia at various events in Kuwait throughout the month of October and culminate in a magnificent fundraising event known as Pink Tuesday on Tuesday 18 October.

I am writing to you to ask for your support for Pink Tuesday by registering a team of ladies for the Pink Netball Tournament and/or donating a designer bag and jewellery for our Bag and Bling sale which will run alongside the netball.

We are delighted to invite you to join us in this worthwhile cause and enter a team of seven ladies to play a number of short games of netball at a cost of KD10 per team. We invite players of all abilities to participate in what promises to be a fun filled afternoon of competition. Names should be submitted to Alison Grice (alg@bsk.edu.kw) by Thursday 06 October.   Please encourage friends and families (including men) to come along to watch and support us in our quest to raise as much money as possible for this pioneering charity which works towards saving lives. The dress code is pink and the Sixth Form students will be running the event as part of their Event Management and Charity programme.

With regards to the Bag and Bling sale all donations should be sent directly to the school or can be collected from a central location.   It would be very much appreciated if you could give an early indication as to how you would like to support the event.  You can contact me on 99052710 or mail pmw@bsk.edu.kw.

On behalf of our Director, Vera Al-Mutawa, I would like to thank you for your support.  This cause is close to all of us as everyone has been touched in some form by this disease and anything we can do to support early detection and diagnosis is the legacy we leave to our children and those who come after us.

Yours sincerely

Patricia Whelan
