1001 Inventions and the Library of Secrets

Might take a while to download properly but it's free (lower the sound, minimise, go do something else for a while and then replay it :O) It's an interesting snippet of the area's scientific discoveries. And it does what it sets out to achieve; it makes me want to learn more about the area's other pioneers such as Ibn Sina, Al Khwarizmi and Ibn Al Haitham. Strange and ironic that Ibn Sina discovered the distillation process for alcohol.

Oscar-winning actor and screen legend Sir Ben Kingsley has taken the starring role in the short feature film about the scientific heritage of Muslim civilisation. The mini-movie, entitled 1001 Inventions and the Library of Secrets, accompanies a global touring exhibition that this currently open to the public at the Science Museum in London.

Thanks Lynne and Mr Ghandour.
