A Kuwaiti Couple Caught Tampering with Jar of Food in an Attempt to Damage Store's Reputation

KUWAIT TIMESA Kuwaiti couple are facing charges after they were caught on security camera placing a tampered jar of food at a store’s shelf in an attempt to damage the store’s reputation. Management of a local co-op society decided recently to investigate video footage circulated online since February showing a person opening a jar infected with pests after picking it up from a shelf inside. While the person is not shown in the uploaded video, the management used CCTV tapes to identify a man and a woman who were caught placing the infected jar on the shelf before taking the libellous video. Photos of the couple were provided to the store’s security personnel who identified the man when he came in to buy some groceries. Police were called in and they arrested the perpetrator. During investigations, police confronted the Kuwaiti man with the surveillance tape that convicts him of his wrongdoing. In addition, they showed him another video footage showing him buying the item he later used from the same store, which suggests that he deliberately, tampered with it. The man remains in custody pending legal procedures while police have summoned his wife for investigations.
