New Plans for Salmiya Park



















This competition winning design was commissioned by Kuwait Commercial Markets Complex Company for it a build-operate-transfer bid for PAAF.

Gulf Consult undertook the concept design of all recreational, landscape and engineering elements. Architectural concept by Dino Georgio.

A large barren area of Salmiya will be transformed into a lush, 'green' family park, offering a wide range of passive and active recreational activities, cultural events and educational opportunities.

Location: Salmiya, Kuwait.
Client: Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources
Services Performed: Master Planning and Concept Design.
Cost: KD 18.0 million

Project Data:
Public leisure/recreational/park facilities of 325,400 sq.m area including 32,540 sq.m for commercial use.
• Cultural Village and Amphitheatre.
• Picnic Area.
• Botanical Garden.
• Maintenence Building.
• Car Parking Spaces for 1,450 cars.

10% of the site is designated for commercial uses, principally taking the form of one major shopping mall.

  1. When will it finish? I hope I am still living here. An open place to do sports is something that is missing in this country. I play padel and it has been imposible to convince The Corniche to build a court for it.
