Yes, a very dubious title but have been finding some great bargains in the UK. One of my favourite things to do is search for holidays (don't need an analyst for that one ;O). And due to a little change in plans for my family in UK, they were supposed to fly out to Florida and spend 2 weeks with us there but the flight prices are just horrible; so we are off to Ilfracombe, Devon, England.
Has cost KD153 to change the tickets, loss of our deposit on villa in Florida, headache of getting from Heathrow to Ilfracombe with 5 suitcases, 3 roll-ons and the extra pain in the neck to get a British visa for my hubby. We never get a multi-entry long term visa because every time we go through the visa application formalities, my husband launches into verbal protestations about the inane, personal questions they ask and the price of the visa. Then he swears he's never going again ;O)

Florida and the Caribbean are bad idea for summer holiday...bad weather and you have to watch out for them tropical storms.

ReplyDeleteYes we are slaves to the bambinos ;0) plus the US is so irresistibly cheap at the moment. Strangely I know of 8 friends and we are all cruising the Caribbean with Royal Carribbean from Port Canaveral, not all at the same time but an odd coincidence. Likely some of us will have some interesting tropical storm stories.
ReplyDeleteCheck the visa requirements for the desired ports. You don't want your non western passport holders to not be able to disembark.
ReplyDeleteIf I may ask, why not west cost? the weather is heavenly. As for cruises, why not Alaska cruise? Norway? or a private cat cruise. Great deals out there in the summer... Bahamas and all the islands as well.
Next summer I'll assist sooner if we are both alive... inshalla :)

Hi EB, yes thanks will re-check regarding visas. Would love to do west coast and must get around to it, one of these days. I fancy the Norway cruise and will put that on my wishlist too :OD Am making you official travel advisor for next year if the dust doesn't kill us first.
