Hairspray at Kuwait Little Theatre

Sorry if you don't already have tickets because you are out of luck! They are SOLD OUT! Should have been reading my blog and you would have known about it :OP

A fabulous evening, had by all last night, at the Kuwait Little Theatre in Ahmadi. Absolutely the best KD 5 I've spent in a long time.

The big fat musical comedy hit was directed by Kirsty McDonagh and produced by Stephanie Mansell. The songs included 1960s-style dance music and "downtown" rhythm and blues.

Set in 1962 Baltimore, Maryland, plus-sized teenager Tracy Turnblad's dream is to dance on The Corny Collins Show, a local TV dance program based on the real-life Buddy Deane Show. When Tracy wins a role on the show, she becomes a celebrity overnight. She then launches a campaign to integrate the show. Hairspray is a social commentary on the injustices of parts of American society in the 1960s.

What dedication from all the actors, musicians and the crew. Thank you for your enthusiasm, it was inspiring.

They have a very efficient booking system so you can pre-book seats, print out your form and pay on the night...for their next production. http://www.theklt.com/

Bravo!
