Economic Chinese delegation due in Kuwait later in May

KUWAIT, May 16 (KUNA) -- Kuwait will host a Chinese business and economic delegation next week to promote the 110th China Import and Export Fair, and a seminar for this purpose is due May 23 in cooperation between Kuwait and China's Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Chinese Embassy said here on Tuesday.

A press release pointed out the seminar is co-organized by the chamber and the China Foreign Trade Center and the Economic and Commercial Counselor's Office of the Chinese Embassy, and the venue is Al-Boom Hall at the chamber.

The ultimate aim of the delegation's visit is to communicate with Kuwaiti buyers and agents and review the opportunities and product available at the fair.

China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, is a biannual event in Guangzhou, held in Spring and Autumn. It is a comprehensive event with the longest history, highest level, largest scale, the broadest distribution of overseas buyers, and the greatest business turnover in China.

The fair drew participation of 48 trading delegations representing over 20, 000 of China's best foreign trade corporations of good credibility and sound financial capabilities. These represent and include foreign trade companies, factories, scientific research bodies, foreign investment enterprises, wholly foreign-owned enterprises, and private enterprises.

China Foreign Trade Center, one of the organizers, is a government sponsored institution affiliated to the Chinese Ministry of Commerce and has been responsible for organizing the import and export fair since 1957.

China Foreign Trade Center (Group) is a business entity affiliated with the China Foreign Trade Center and holds foreign exhibitions in China as well as organizes Chinese exhibitions both locally and abroad.
