Necessary Orthodontic Treatment ‘Free’ in Kuwait to Non-Kuwaitis

KUWAIT CITY, May 6: Acting Minister of Health Dr Hilal Al-Sayer issued a decision, offering free orthodontic treatment to non-Kuwaitis who are being treated at par with Kuwaitis and are exempted from paying for health services, reports Al-Mustaqbal daily.

Sources say orthodontic treatment will be provided free of charge if the person’s jaw structure is such that he/she faces difficulty in chewing or if the teeth are so crooked that they affect the look of the person.

LWDLIK- Now that is a wonderful compassionate offer. The above pics are examples only. I'm sure a new smile and the ability to eat properly would mean the world to many who could not otherwise afford such treatment.

  5. Hi Dawn, Does he have a civil ID? And is it 'necessary' treatment? If it is - best place to start would be with a referal from your local polyclinic in your area (some have dentists, if yours doesn't then ask the reception and they will tell you where the nearest one is that you should go to). If the staff are not helpful; be persistant until you find someone you can help you and tell you where. The polyclinic dentist should refer you for othodontic treatment if deemed necessary. Normally the polyclinic will make an appontment for you make sure you get that and the time written on your referal sheet and get it stamped/signed. Now comes first problem these new rulings can take a while to get passed from section to section so don't be surprised if you're told this is not available yet. Ask when it will be and get another appointment later. Hope this helps. Good luck! Be persistent. Let me know how you get on. Please note the pic above is just an example.
