Private Tuitions - Worth Every Fil
Initially, I was peeved at having to find tutors outside of school to up my baby girl's grades. Then I was peeved at the price of such tuition average KD 15-20 for 1 1/2 - 2 hours. But my kid did her research and came up with some cracking tutors. We have a doctor in organic chemistry (phD from the UK), a fabulous and quite famous Greek math teacher who helped take my kid from an E to an A and got her nominated for a math award, and finally we have a physics tutor with a lovely Scottish accent that writes books on IGCSE physics that sell on Amazon and have 5 star reviews. I will be gladly throwing my money at this band of geniuses in our IGCSE Mission for 2019. Email me for more details lwdlik@gmail.com.

Review: Charlotte Tilbury Store, The Avenues
The glitzy new Charlotte Tilbury flagship store, that has recently opened in The Avenues opposite Harvey Nichols, is a must visit for any woman who has ever picked up a lipstick. You have to try out the Mirror, Mirror make-over tool it really is so much fun. Babygirl had a blast - even in her school uniform.
Okay so I need to take some posing lessons from my 14 year old but I'm really tempted to buy a few of the looks.
Upstairs in the drop-dead gorgeous store is a proper make-up salon where you can have a professional, free, full make-up, make over as long as you buy KD 30 worth of products. So I have decided I shall wait until I have an event to attend and then I'll go in and buy the products and get me a free party face.
The sales ladies in the store informed me the Make-Up Guru herself will be in the store on the 18th October if any of you would like to try to meet her.
A few items definitely going on the Santa list this year.
10/10 for the store and customer experience.

Review: Artspace Studio, Cafe and Gallery
Artspace is located on the 2nd floor (take the lift), Galleria Mall, Salem Al Mubarak Street, Salmiya. Tel. 9777 5273 Open daily from 11am-10pm except Friday 3pm-11pm.
My dear friend and I went along for the morning today. A beautiful airy place, with a cute and very welcome coffee bar and a stunning collection of art on display by the incredibly talented Khalid Al Najdi.
We were given large canvases, easels, aprons, brushes, acrylics paints and our own instructor - excellent value so far for the KD 11 Mother's Day Special offer. We deviated slightly from the above schedule managing to convince Zaina to let us do one of her wonderful paintings instead, and because the other ladies who booked were really late, she gave in and let us do the painting that we both loved and had the perfect spot for at home.
Zaina gave us clear instructions at each stage. After drawing our outlines we got stuck in with the acrylic paints, copying the shapes, shading and finally highlighting. The initial outline I found quite easy to do, but the actual painting part was a bit trickier than I anticipated. Zaina was at hand all the way through to encourage, advise and even correct, if necessary. Both my friend and I were pretty happy with our efforts and we would definitely go back to Artspace again as we really enjoyed our experience.
My first attempt..
Thank you Artspace. It's a 9/10 from me for the whole experience but I'm sure if I get better I'll give it a 10/10.
Meanwhile, I shall be watching a few Youtube videos to 'brush' up my technique.
