So this was how today's post was supposed to go - Dubai Hotels Are On Sale and Wild Wadi has a 25% discount if Paying By Visa

Irresistible! You'd think.

Have booked our flights for next week, before the munchkins go back to school. I thought I had a fabulous deal at Radisson Blu Downtown Dubai - a business class room for 4 nights inc. free massage, breakfast, nibbles and happy hour for KD 142. Or maybe it isn't? It seems there is no business/club lounge (why call a room a business class room if there is no business class lounge?), and no free massage (confusing Facebook offer). Is it me or was this misrepresented?

So far, not so good.

Radisson Downtown Dubai hotel looks pretty impressive. Will let you know how it goes.

Sadly, the confusing Facebook offer of a free massage is not included in this business class rate you need to pay considerably more for the 'Free' massage.

Regarding the massage it was explained to me that you have to book the 'Stay and Relax' deal to get the massage. Okay point taken; but seems a bit excessively priced for a 'free' massage so I'll pass on that one.

You will notice that all the prices of Radisson's best rates are the same as Booking.com. I was assured that the Booking.com prices are exclusive of taxes and the Radisson website was cheaper. Hmmmmm.. So what are the AED 340 of estimated taxes added on by Radisson to the total. And WTH does 'estimated' mean? I am already wishing I had booked elsewhere, let's hope I'm wrong.

There are some absolute bargains for hotels in Dubai on Booking.com.

Wild Wadi Water Park

Wild Wadi Water Park Visa card discount is a whopping 25% discount. Woohoo! I think. Would be fabulous if I could get on the website to book it. Website down all day yesterday. Went to book today and can not see a Visa discount promo code anywhere in the check out. Have messaged but no response. Website down again. Starting to think this trip may be cursed.

Wild Wadi Waterpark it has to be done.

IMG's Worlds of Adventure

Working on tickets for the opening of IMG's Worlds of Adventure which is the world's largest indoor theme park opening on 31st August. Except the website was also down for more than 12 hours. Finally sorted. Looking forward to this one.

Burj Khalifa

I managed to find a Groupon voucher for a trip up the Burj Khalifa (Yes UAE has Groupons always worth checking for discounts) the voucher includes fast track entry, a drink and a pastry for around KD 11 each. Hope my little ones can keep the pastry down. Note to self: bring plastic bag and dettol wipes.

Will keep working on the Wild Wadi tickets failing that we'll shall just have to queue on the day.

Free Water Park at Fahaheel Seaside

KUWAIT TIMES: As part of its efforts to boost tourism in Kuwait, the Ministry of Information on Wednesday launched a Water Park on the Fahaheel seaside area next to Al Kout Mall. This park is open daily from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm for families – from August 17 to September 30, 2016.
There will be no entrance fee. There will be musical concerts during the weekends (in the evening) and also during Eid Al Adha. Some of the concerts will be held inside the water part – at the Kout Mall theatre. Jasim Al-Habib, Assistant Undersecretary for Tourism Sector at the Ministry of Information said that the Ministry is working with various governmental institutions to boost local tourism in Kuwait. “We are happy to see many people at this event. This temporary Water Park will be available for another 45 days after which we will kick start the winter activities,” Jasim Al- Habib told the Kuwait Times during the launching ceremony.
“We have 200 summer activities this season and we are looking forward to having more. This is just the beginning. We are planning more activities in the future,” Al- Habib added. The Water Park is part of the Summer Festival for 2016 of the Tourism Sector at the Ministry of Information. It is organized in cooperation with Condor International Gen Trade Company. This is the first festival to be held by the Ministry.

Gold for 58 Year Old British Show Jumper at Rio 2016 - How's That For Inspirational

Great Britain's Nick Skelton has won gold in the individual Olympic show jumping after a six-way jump-off.
The 58-year-old spent two years away from the sport after breaking his neck when falling from a horse in 2000.
LWDLIK - Amazing! This is what the Brits are made of. The sore EU remainers have forgotten where their balls are.
Thanks Sabika x

NBK Supports Kuwait's Olympic athletes

Congratulations Fehaid Al Deehani From Avenues Mall

Amazing Fehaid Al Deehani Receiving Gold - No Kuwaiti Flag, No Kuwaiti National Anthem

This had me in tears. I would assume an olympian's proudest moment is to stand on the podium wearing your gold medal, in front of your country's raised flag and proudly listening to your national anthem. So sad and mad at this. Bravo Fehaid Al Deehani you are an inspiration to all.

Happy For Fehaid Al Deehani And Sad - No National Anthem, No Mention of Kuwait and No Kuwaiti Flag #Rio2016

I wanted to cry for him. But bravo and congratulations Fehaid Al Deehani an awesome effort.

Amazing Fehaid Al Deehani Wins Gold at Double Trap shooting

How exciting! Both (Italy and Kuwait) got equal top marks for gold medal so it went to sudden death shoot off and Fehad won gold. So thrilled for him. Bravo!

So no Kuwaiti flag :O(
Does this also mean no national anthem when he receives his medal?

Go Kuwaiti Olympians Make Us Proud

Freestyle Women's 50m on 12th August.

Go Faye!

I think she will be in lane 3 and the race will be at 7pm but check Abu Dhabi Sports Live channels.

I will not mention how pissed off I am that they are not competing under their flag. We enjoyed the opening ceremony of the games, critiqued the outfits of many and loved Tonga's flag bearer.
