Blatant Disregard for the Law and a New Pedestrian Crossing

Great to see a policeman giving a ticket to this car in front of Souk Safat Block 9 for being parked illegally and astoundlingly what happen prior has to be one of the worst cases of disrespect for the law. This car above pulled up in front of a white Mercedes that was getting a ticket, the owner of the Mercedes was talking to the policeman but the policeman still gave him a ticket. This grey car then parks in front of that scene, the driver and female passenger must have seen what was happening but regardless parked the car and walked straight past the policeman into the building down the road to the right of photo. Unbelieveable!

Better news...Just down the road and round the corner, in front of the Commercial Bank HQ in the city, is a new pedestrian crossing with lights and stripes and all. And I stopped when it was green and let the nice, wary-looking people gingerly cross. Not unusual, you might think, but highly unusual for Kuwait. Was a little worried that some car might hit me in the behind this being a new concept to many. So very happy to see these being introduced and people paying heed. Will now tell any visitors or newcomers to Kuwait that there is, now, a chance that cars will stop for you at a pedestrian crossing. Becareful  though just because one car stops doesn't mean others will.
