Three Women Arrested in Salmiya for Wearing See-Through Abayas

KUWAIT: Three women were recently arrested from a Salmiya cafe where they created a scene with their indecent attire. Investigations revealed that the women were promiscuous and consumed alcohol. The women were reportedly sitting at the cafe in a mall wearing see-through abayas. This caught attention of other people at the cafe. One concerned mother immediately informed police, who reached the location shortly. They arrested the women although they refused to cooperate initially. They were referred to Rumaithiya police station.  Two of them were sisters who came to Kuwait from a GCC country, while the other was a citizen. The three admitted to spending the previous night in an apartment where they engaged in immoral activities in a drunken stupor. When police contacted the two sisters’ father, he refused to come to Kuwait saying that he was too busy with business related issues. The women remain in the custody of Criminal Investigations General Department.

Arab Times 23/1/2012 page 6 - Reads;  the girls, 2 GCC nationals and 1 Kuwaiti, were naked underneath the abayas. Seems police called one of the GCC nationals' father who said he was too busy to come and see to his daughter's detainment by the authorities.
