The unused marshlands of Khairan in south Kuwait, which is located near the Saudi Arabian border, has turned into a giant construction zone unlike anything you've ever seen before! What is taking place there is an ambitious project that has been in the works for decades, which was envisioned by the late Mr. Khalid Yousuf Al-Marzouq.
The goal is to bring the sea into the desert by creating a series of lagoons and water channels that will allow the thousands of residents to enjoy both sea views and beaches, while also enjoying services and facilities that you can get anywhere else in the country. It is being constructed in 3 phases, and below you can see the third phase circled in red, which is yet to be completed. No part of this project falls short, by any means, of being grand.
