Sadu House & Fayre Trade

We passed by the Winter Fayre at Sadu House on Saturday before a yummy brunch at Prime & Toast and dashing off to the fabulous Dick Whittington panto matinee at Kuwait Little Theatre in Ahmadi.

Sadu house is a cultural center concerned with the promotion of Kuwait's traditional textile arts and related skills. It is such a lovely old building, serene and beautiful kept. Full of interesting Sadu woven pieces, books and information on the old Kuwaiti tradition of Sadu weaving. A must visit for all.

They have recently introduced the monthly Chai Al Dhaha (morning tea) mornings where you can drop by for an informal visit, cup of tea and learn a little about Sadu house and Sadu weaving. Will keep you posted on the date for the next one.

Fayre Trade who exhibited at the Winter Fayre are a co-operative of artists, home-crafters and small independent traders in Kuwait. The ethos of the co-operative is to offer diversity, quality and value for money to our customers, while asking a fair price for our goods. As the cooperative is a 'not-for-profit' entity there is no membership fee, but members are required from time to time to offer assistance in organising events. Ideas and opinions on any aspect of the co-operative are welcome and encouraged; after all, a co-operative belongs to its members. If you would like to be considered for membership of the 'FayreTrade co-operative', contact us at fayretradeq8@yahoo.com  with a brief description of your work or produce and photos attached if possible.

Some of their lovely hand-crafted items that were on sale at Sadu House and most likely at the TES Winter Bazaar on 9th December .
