Korean Culture Week 8 - 11 May, 2012

Korean Embassy organizes Korea Week
As part of its ongoing effort to increase the level of contacts and interaction between the Korean and Kuwaiti peoples, the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Kuwait is organizing the Korea Week from May 8th to 11th in the Korean Embassy located in the diplomatic zone 2, Block 7 in Mishref near the Japanese and Syrian Embassies.. The Korea Week provides a unique chance for Kuwaiti people and other residents to get acquainted with Korea and its culture as it offers many programs including tasting Korean food, buying Korean art crafts and products, learning about Korean Culture and meeting and befriend of Korean people. Korea Week is full of excitement and all are welcome to come and enjoy the entertainment.

The week composed of various programs such as Korean food festival (May 8th), Korean traditional wedding ceremony and Kids Hanbok(Korean traditional clothing) fashion show (May 8th and 9th) and K-Pop Contest (May 10th). And also Korean Market selling Korean food, Korean foodstuff, Korean art craft and stationery will be organized while charity bazaar will sell small items donated from Korean Community and Kuwaiti volunteers. In addition to this, participants will be able to try beautiful Hanbok, Korean calligraphy, Hanji (Korean traditional paper) art craft, and Tal (Korean traditional Mask) making.

This week of events highlights also the Kuwaiti culture. We are really proud of mentioning that a group of forty Kuwaiti volunteers from the Korean Culture Diwaniya are taking part in preparing for this event. The group will also organize a corner for Kuwaiti Culture in addition to a Charity Bazaar.

To make the whole event more vivid, dancing teams from the Kuwaiti side such the B-boy dance team, Electrik crew, Hip hop dance team, 965 crew, will also join the K-pop contest as special guests. On May 11th, the classical music concert will be held in Abdulaziz Theater and middle and high school Korean students who are living in Kuwait will play classical music. We are really confident that our guests will enjoy all activities. Come and enjoy Korean Culture nights.
