Attention Expat Mums In Kuwait Or Moving To Kuwait

The lovely ladies at Expat Mums in Kuwait are a group of multicultured mums who hold regular mum's coffees, playdates, and parkdates, as well as bigger events such as holiday parties. They are all volunteers, helping each other and keeping connected.

They have compiled this great list of kiddies parks here in Kuwait so I thought I'd repost it just in time for the cooler months. Hope they don't mind me sharing it with you.

Outdoor Playgrounds/Parks:

Free:
  • Sha’ab Playground, pond, swings, slides, benches, off the 30 and 3rd ring road, west side of the 30.

  • Marina Mall/Marina Waves/Corniche—many playgrounds along the Corniche: places to picnic, ride bikes, walk, etc. Playground quality varies. Better for older kids who can climb, not for babies and toddlers.
  • Egaila Beach Playground, also has walking loop, exit 209 on the water
  • Salwa Park, by KES in Salwa, McDonald's play structure.
  • Mishref Park, McDonald's play structure, south of Mishref Co-op (the rest of the play equipment is in ill repair)
  • Jabriya Park, south of 4th ring and in between 40 and street 104
  • Salmiya Park
  • Play area near TGIFriday's on Gulf road, not too far from Kuwait Towers
  • Play area on Gulf Road next to Shrimpy's right after you exit the Towers. It's inside a courtyard

  1. I'm glad you like the list :-) It took me a long time to compile it as well as driving around to check out worthy parks/play areas.

Sadly, I have to report that the Abou Hasaniya playground is not as in good repair as it was last winter and last spring. I took those photos in March, but much of it is also now in ill repair :-( I wish the playgrounds would stay trash free and in working order for longer than 6 months!!

  2. Hi April, it is a great list I'm sure it will come in handy for lots of mums. I have plans to try out the one in Shaab, which I never knew existed til your list.

There's a cute quiet one in Messila too, turn right at the Cancr Aware villa, turn left and go straight for about 300m, park should be on your left.

Yes, sadly, the harsh weather conditions, some unruly kids and lack of maintenance :O(

The kids at KES often clean up the Salwa Park. I even got in touch with the newspapers about the horrid mess there and had a little article published. But at the end of the day if the people using the park don't clean up after themselves or stop their kids from vandalsing then we all suffer. I guess it's how you've been brought up. Yes I blame bad parenting, lack of respect for others and no love of the country (locals and foreigners).

Always great to hear from you :O)
