Kuwaiti Businessman Nasser Al Kharafi Dies















Wikipedia - Nasser Al-Kharafi born 1944 - died 17 April 2011 is a Kuwaiti businessman and chairman of M.A. Kharafi & Sons. His company has performed $4.3 billion in sales. His net worth increased because of rising share prices of several holdings including Mobile Telecommunications Co., National Bank of Kuwait and Americana, operator of U.S. fast food chains.

The family-owned firm has stakes in several listed firms in the Gulf state, alongside subsidiaries in the construction, hospitality and travel industries.

Kuwait Food Company or Americana, holds the Middle East franchises for Pizza Hut, KFC and TGI Friday’s, among others. Al Kharafi was also the largest individual stakeholder of popular doughnut company Krispy Kreme.

According to Forbes World's Billionaires List - Nasser Al-Kharafi & family rank at #77 overall  and at #1 in Kuwait.

Seems he died in Cairo from a heart attack. May he rest in peace.
