Serving Wines, Champagne, Beer and Other Spirits in 1977 on Kuwait Airways

So the drink before the meal should be alcoholic and caviar should be eaten with vodka and/or champagne. Now that would really take the pain out of flying Kuwait Airways. Have just heard from a lady, who worked with them at that time, she says spirits were 150 fils and beer 100 fils per can.

Thanks KAC Pioneers.

  3. My folks lived in Kuwait back in the 80s and say it was a different place entirely back then, such a shame as to how it's progressing, or lack there of:( im glad I as an Australian have been blessed to experience forward thinking and hope the same will be applied to forthcoming generations

    1. Have to agree when I arrived here in '82 the people were different; kind, hospitable, curious, open and tolerant.

  4. Wow condescending much? Kuwait may have gone backwards on the legality of drinking but they've definitely moved forward on other things e.g. Women's rights + voting. Alcohol... Voting... I think I choose voting seeing as alcohol MAY be illegal, but it's definitely not enforced. :)
Great post! Never seen this before!

    1. Condescending? Not sure I understand.... why do you think that? And the 'moving forward on other things' is highly debatable. But yes it is a great piece of posterity :OD

  5. Talo - apart from issue of allowing women to vote, which incidentally was only brought about because of pressure from the late Amir Jaber and not because of the lawmakers in this country, where exactly has progress been made??
